Q: Could you tell us a little about your books?
A: My books are the first two in a trilogy called Ladies of the Caribbean. Swept to Sea is about a young lady who stows away on a pirate ship to escape her abusive fiancé. She meets a handsome pirate captain who is trying to seek revenge for the death of his wife and the two find romance on the high seas. Carried Home is about a young lady who gets stranded in the Caribbean after going on a mission to rescue her best friend. Eager to get back home to her little brother, she accepts an invitation from an insecure new captain to take her back to London. The two face pirates and hurricanes on their journey home.
Q: What inspired you to write them?
A: I’ve always loved good love stories and adventure, so I decided I would write my own adventurous love stories!
Q: When did you realize you wanted to be a writer?
A: I was in middle school, writing short stories in my English class, and my teacher encouraged me in my writing. I realized that I was actually good at what I was doing and wanted to continue.
Q: Do you have a special place to write?
A: Right now, it’s my dorm room. I live in a single dorm with no roommate, so it’s a nice and quiet place to write where I can play music the whole time.
Q: Do you have any advice for other writers?
A: I always tell other writers to keep writing no matter what and don’t forget to read! I taught myself how to write mostly by reading. And it’s fun too!
